The John Deere Model 520

The John Deere 520
This 1957 Model 520 belongs to Dave and Cathy Holzwarth of B and D Antique Tractors in Minnesota. Evidently that's DAVE in the seat!

The 520 was the successor to the Model 50 and the biggest visible difference between them was the new, two-tone, green and yellow paint job, even though the design of the sheet metal is still the same as the Model 50. The sheet metal was redesigned on the Model 530. The 520 is very similar in appearance to the 620 except that it is smaller. Look HERE to see some other differences.
The 520 was produced from 1956 to 1958. The new "Float-Ride" seat was introduced on these tractors. The engines were completely redesigned to provide more horsepower.

The 520 has a convertable front pedestal and was available in various configurations, shown at the right, like the Model 50. Neither tractor was ever available as a "Standard" tractor.

The Model 520 was only available in two body styles:
The John Deere Model 520
520 Rowcrop

The John Deere Model 520 LP
520 LP fuel Rowcrop
