The Cranking Shaft (or Stub Shaft)

Meli.... I heard that there is a little "stub shaft" that you would mount your steering wheel on, and use it to hand crank your John Deere two cylinder tractor if the starter doesn't work or the battery is dead. What does it look like, and can I get one somewhere?

Yes, it is shown above as part number 19 on page 19 of the PC-330 parts catalog for the Model B tractor. It fits the late styled Model B, the late styled Model A, the Models 50, 60, 70, 520, and 620. STEINER TRACTOR PARTS has brand new ones in stock. This is something we didn't even KNOW that anyone was making. It was a pleasant surprise to discover that you can get it from STEINER'S. 
The picture on the right, from the "late styled" Model B operator's manual, shows how you would safely use the steering wheel and the stub shaft to crank the flywheel.
