How come some Model B's don't have the circle decal with the B in it??

There's the circle decal
Pay Attention!!!

The circle decal was not introduced until the styling change at serial number 201,000 in 1947. Unstyled tractors and styled tractors BEFORE serial number 200,999 should NOT have that decal!! The only Model B's that should have the circle are the late styled ones with the pressed steel front frame and the padded seat that sits on top of the battery box.
I know, I know, the decal set you bought from John Deere, or somewhere else, has the circle decal in it. If you don't want to waste the decal, put it on the back window of your pickup truck!!! That decal set is a "generic" one, and is not necessarily right for YOUR model year. If you want the correct decals, get them from:

Be sure to give them the serial number of your tractor and they will fix you up with a set of decals that exactly matches what was on your tractor when it was new. Are they expensive?? Well... sure; but after all that work you did restoring that tractor and putting on that beautiful paint job, do you want to spoil it with the wrong decals?? Hmmmmm, not that expensive at ALL, are they??
